An employer shall require an employee who operates a commercial vehicle to have a commercial driver's license.
An employer shall not knowingly allow an employee to operate a commercial motor vehicle if the employee has been disqualified from operating a commercial motor vehicle.
An employer shall not knowingly allow, require, permit or authorize a driver to operate a commercial motor vehicle during a period in which the driver, or the commercial motor vehicle he or she is driving, or the motor carrier operation, is subject to an out-of-service order.
An employer shall not knowingly allow, require, permit, or authorize a driver to operate a commercial motor vehicle in the District of Columbia in violation of a Federal or District of Columbia law or regulation pertaining to railroad-highway grade crossings.
An employer shall not knowingly allow, require, permit, or authorize any of its drivers to engage in texting or using a hand-held mobile telephone while driving.
