Before a notary public performs the notary public's initial remote notarial act, the notary public must notify ONCA in writing that the notary public will be performing notarial acts with respect to remotely located individuals and identify the technologies the notary public intends to use, including the technologies in compliance with the identity proofing and communication technology standards set forth in Sections 2417 and 2418 herein.
A notary public who has notified ONCA of their intent to perform remote notarial acts may perform the following remote notarial acts:
In performing remote notarial acts, a notary public shall comply with all requirements for notarial acts and electronic notarial acts under the Act and this chapter.
