Rule 17-1722 - SUBPOENAS
1722.1

The Mayor, Corporation Counsel, or Director may issue subpoenas to compel witnesses to appear and testify and for any material that is relevant to the administration of this chapter.

1722.2

Subpoenas shall be issued in the name of the Mayor of the District of Columbia or the Director and all witnesses compelled to appear shall be entitled to a reasonable fee established by the Director.

1722.3

The fee may not be paid to witnesses in advance of their appearance.

1722.4

In the case of contumacy by or refusal to obey a subpoena issued under this chapter by the Mayor, Corporation Counsel, or the Director to any person, the Mayor, Corporation Counsel, or Director may refer the matter to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and request an order by that court to require the witness to appear and give testimony or produce materials.
