Rule 16-623 - CEASE AND DESIST ORDERS
623.1

Upon a finding by the Department that a person is in violation of this chapter, and that the violation has an immediate impact on that person's customers, the Department may issue an order requiring that person to cease and desist from such conduct and to take affirmative action, including restitution equivalent to but not exceeding, the decrease in value of the consumer goods resulting from the violation.

623.2

If the Department determines that a cease and desist order issued under this section has not resulted in corrective action within fifteen (15) days following issuance of the order, the Department shall refer the matter to the Corporation Counsel, and to other interested District government agents, who shall initiate appropriate legal action.
