DCHA shall conduct a move-in inspection with the new tenant the same day as the dwelling lease is signed for occupancy. DCHA and the tenant shall sign the unit inspection form certifying the condition of the unit, and the equipment provided with the unit, at the end of the inspection.
The DCHA shall conduct a move-out inspection within twenty-four (24) hours of becoming aware that a tenant has vacated a unit or with the tenant on the day the tenant is scheduled to vacate.
Tenants shall be asked to explain the nature, and cause, of any damage to the premises not documented during prior unit inspections.
The tenant and DCHA shall sign the unit inspection form certifying the condition of the unit and equipment in the unit, and assigning tenant responsibility for repair as provided in § 6503 of this chapter.
The DCHA shall furnish the vacated tenant with a statement of total charges for any damages within ten (10) working days after completion of the repairs.
