Strike Section 507.5.2 of the International Fire Code and insert new Section 507.5.2 into the Fire Code in its place to read as follows:
Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire hydrant systems shall be subject to periodic tests as required by the fire code official. Fire hydrant systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times and shall be repaired where defective. Additions, repairs, alterations and servicing shall comply with approved standards. Approved markings such as color, status rings, and flow rating bands shall be provided and maintained for all fire hydrants in accordance with the requirements of the fire code official.
Private fire hydrant systems. Private fire hydrant systems shall comply with the Private Fire Hydrant Act of 2010, effective March 31, 2011 (D.C. Law 18-337; D.C. Official Code §§ 34-2410.01et seq. (2012 Repl.) ("Private Fire Hydrant Act").
