Rule 12-D505 - DIRECT-VENT, INTEGRAL VENT, MECHANICAL VENT AND VENTILATION/EXHAUST HOOD VENTING Insert a new Section 505.1.2 into the Fuel Gas to read as follows:
505.1.2 Reuse of commercial cooking fuel gas appliances. Where commercial cooking appliances equipped with standing pilot burner are reused, the installation of such appliances shall comply with one of the following arrangements:
1. Installation shall meet the requirements of Section 505.1.1; or 2. Where a solenoid valve is installed in the gas piping as part of the interlock system to prevent appliance operation when the exhaust hood system is not operating, a bypass line shall be installed to continuously supply the pilots when the exhaust fan is not operating. The bypass line shall be sized so as to prevent the operation of the smallest cooking burner of the appliance. The installation shall be interconnected so that actuation of the hood automatic fire suppression system shall shut down all gas supply to the appliance including to the pilot burner bypass. D.C.
