Strike Section 1203.1 of the International Building Code in its entirety and insert new Section 1203.1 in the Building Code in its place to read as follows:
General. Buildings shall be provided with natural ventilation in accordance with Section 1203.4, or mechanical ventilation in accordance with the Mechanical Code. Each new dwelling unit shall be ventilated by mechanical means in accordance with Section 403 of the Mechanical Code and shall have at least one opening to the outdoors for natural ventilation of not less than 4 percent of the floor area of the habitable spaces of the dwelling unit. Ambulatory care facilities and Group I- 2 occupancies shall be ventilated by mechanical means in accordance with Section 407 of the Mechanical Code.
