Rule 11-3201 - PENALTIES
3201.1

As provided in § 10 of the Zoning Act (52 Stat. 797, 800, as amended; D.C. Official Code § 6-641.09 (2001)(formerly codified at D.C. Code § 5-426 (1994 Repl.))), the owner or person in charge of or maintaining any building or land, or any other person who erects, constructs, reconstructs, alters, converts, maintains, or uses any building or structure, or part of a building or structure, or land in violation of the provisions of this title shall, upon conviction for that violation, be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100) per day for each and every day the violation continues.

3201.2

The Office of the Attorney General of the District of Columbia, or any neighboring property owner or occupant who would be specially damaged by any violation of this title, may, in addition to all other remedies provided by law, institute injunction or other appropriate action or proceedings to prevent the unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, conversion, maintenance, or use; or to correct or abate a violation; or to prevent the occupancy of the buildings, structure, or land.
