Any plat which has been prepared by a Registered Land Surveyor and recorded pursuant to the provisions of this chapter may be amended or corrected contingent upon providing a written notification to the D.C. Surveyor's Office.
Amendments or corrections to recorded plats may be made by the Registered Land Surveyor who certified the original plat or by another D.C. Registered Land Surveyor; Provided, that he or she is then currently employed by the firm which prepared the original recorded plat.
Amendments or corrections shall be made by recording a new plat with appropriate referencing to that which it supersedes and by placing an appropriate notation upon the original plat which alerts all readers to the survey book and page number where the amendment is recorded.
All amended plats and plats of correction shall be dated, certified, signed and sealed by the Registered Land Surveyor as set forth in § 2816.2 and the plat shall bear amendment notes which clearly explain the nature and purpose of the amendment or correction.
Revised field notes shall also be submitted to support any amendment or correction to a recorded plat, unless the amendment is being made to correct an error which is not inconsistent with, or contrary to, the original field notes.
Amendments or corrections to wall examination reports shall be performed in a manner similar to the amending of Recorded Plats.
