Section 1570-1.0 - Content1.1 This regulation shall apply to the issuance of an Early Childhood Exceptional Children Special Education Teacher Standard Certificate (Category) pursuant to 14 Del.C. § 1220 (a). 1.1.1 This Standard Certificate is required for an Educator whose primary assignment is teaching Students with Disabilities from Birth to Grade 2 in Delaware public schools. 1.1.1.1 The Early Childhood Exceptional Children Special Education Teacher Standard Certificate may be used for grades K to 2 in lieu of the Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities Standard Certificate.1.1.1.2 The Teacher of Students with Autism or with Severe Intellectual Disabilities Standard Certificate, Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Standard Certificate, and Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments Standard Certificate shall be used when the teacher's primary assignment is providing instruction to the category of students designated within those category certifications.1.1.2 This Certification is a category Standard Certificate and does not certify an Educator to practice in a particular area or teach a particular subject. A category Standard Certificate only establishes that an Educator has met the prescribed education, knowledge, or skill requirements to instruct a particular category of students. This Certification is limited to the category of teaching Students with Disabilities from Birth to Grade 2 in Delaware public schools.1.1.3 An Educator shall hold at least one content area Standard Certificate.14 Del.
