Section 29-143j-43a - Examination after bout
(a) All contestants shall be examined by a physician following the conclusion of their individual bout. Such physician shall be assigned by the commissioner or such commissioner's authorized representative and such physician shall file a written report of such examination with the commissioner or such commissioner's authorized representative.
(b) Any contestant who has sustained any injury shall, at the direction of the physician assigned by the commissioner or such commissioner's authorized representative, be taken to the nearest hospital and be thoroughly examined. The contestant or the contestant's manager or other representative shall ensure that the contestant is examined pursuant to the direction of the physician assigned by the commissioner or such commissioner's authorized representative.
(c) The contestant or the contestant's manager shall give the commissioner or such commissioner's authorized representative a full report of the examination made by the hospital referred to in subsection (b) of this section. The report shall be given to the commissioner or such commissioner's authorized representative as soon as possible, but not later than thirty days from the date of the examination.
(d) In the event that a contestant who has suffered any injury has on such account been treated by the contestant's personal physician, the contestant's manager shall give a copy of the physician's report to the commissioner or such commissioner's authorized representative as soon as possible, but not later than thirty days from the date of the examination.
