Section 19a-177-2 - Administration(a) The Office of Emergency Medical Services is the lead division within the department responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation and enforcement of the trauma system for the state of Connecticut.(b) A Trauma Committee shall be established by the commissioner as a committee of the EMS Advisory Board.(1) The committee shall include representatives from at least the following: (A) Commission on Hospitals and Health Care (CHHC) or its successor agency(ies);(B) Connecticut Committee on Trauma, American College of Surgeons, (CCT/ACS), four (4) persons, one of whom shall represent the interests of Level III, Level IV, or undesignated facilities;(C) Connecticut College of Emergency Physicians (CCEP), four (4) persons, one of whom shall represent the interests of Level III, Level IV, or undesignated facilities;(D) Connecticut Emergency Nurses Association (CENA);(E) Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA);(F) Paramedic Committee of the EMS Advisory Board; and(G) Volunteer Committee of the EMS Advisory Board.(2) The committee shall, at least annually:(A) review protocols and recommend changes to the commissioner through the EMS Advisory Board; and(B) evaluate the status of the trauma system and recommend changes to the commissioner through the EMS Advisory Board.Conn.
