Section 180.180 - Standard - Technician: Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical laboratory technicians shall be employed in sufficient numbers to meet the workload demands of the laboratory and shall function only under direct supervision of a clinical laboratory technologist.
(A) Each technician shall perform only those clinical laboratory procedures which require a degree of skill and judgment commensurate with the education, training, and technical abilities of the technician.(B) Clinical laboratory technicians shall perform procedures under the supervision of a qualified laboratory technologist, supervisor, or director.
