Section 164.409 - Death of a ResidentIn addition to the notification requirements of 105 CMR 164.035, the Licensed or Approved Provider shall develop procedures to be followed in the event of the death of a resident. These procedures shall conform with laws governing the report of death to local authorities, and shall include the following:
(A) Local emergency services (911) shall be notified immediately.(B) The Licensed or Approved Provider shall comply with all laws concerning declaration of death and moving the deceased.(C) The Licensed or Approved Provider shall make reasonable efforts to notify the deceased's emergency contact. A written record of these efforts shall be included in the resident's record.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1482, eff. 11/11/2022.
