Section 142.515 - Birth Assistant(A) A second staff person shall also be present at each birth. The second staff person must be either a nurse-midwife, or a licensed nurse.(B) Licensed nurses must have labor and delivery experience within one year of employment in a licensed obstetrical service which includes training in:(1) full adult and infant resuscitation;(2) assessing the phases and stages of labor;(3) psychology and physiology of labor and delivery; and(4) equipment and supplies used for labor and delivery.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1272, eff. 10/24/2014.
