Section 670.36 - Specific issuance criteria(a) For purposes consistent with the Act, only the following species may be considered for a permit allowing their introduction into Antarctica: (1) Cultivated plants and their reproductive propagules for controlled use; and(2) Species of living organisms including viruses, bacteria, yeasts, and fungi, for controlled experimental use.(b) Living non-indigenous species of birds shall not be introduced into Antarctica. 86 FR 27988 , May 25, 2021
