Section 5245 - Blasting Operations During Lightning and Dust Storms(a) Upon the approach of a lightning or dust storm, blasting operations shall be stopped and all persons in the blast area withdrawn to a safe location.(b) Provisions shall be made for warning crews when an electric or dust storm approaches.(c) In underground operations using electrical blasting systems, instrumentation to determine the presence of a lightning and dust storm within 15 miles of the portal and means to signal the heading shall be provided.Cal.
