Section 12014 - Terms
(a) A term of office for eligible parent members shall not exceed two years. An eligible parent member may not be elected to more than two terms. Such term limit shall also apply in those cases in which an eligible parent has served less than two years in a given term. Parent members may not serve on the RPAC for more than four years, consecutive or otherwise.
(b) A term of office for an eligible community member shall not exceed one year. An eligible community member may not be elected to more than two terms. Such term limit shall also apply in those cases in which an eligible community member has served less than one year in a given term. No community member may serve on the RPAC for more than two years, consecutive or otherwise. The term of office for a community member will terminate as of the date they move from the service area.
(c) If during his or her term, a parent member ceases to be a parent of a current migratory child as defined by Education Code section 54441(a) and a parent of a migratory child as defined by 20 United States Code section 6399(3), such parent may complete the school year on the RPAC. However, such a parent may not seek a subsequent term on the RPAC unless he or she again meets all of the requirements set forth in section 12010(a).
(d) Former parent members may not subsequently serve at any time as a community member, and former community members may not subsequently serve at any time as a parent member.
