Section 50 - Access to Public Records of the California Department of Education(a) Inspection of the original copy of any public record of the California Department of Education (CDE) (as defined by Government Code sections 6252(d) and 6254) will be permitted during regular office hours of the CDE, 1430 N Street, Sacramento, California 95814.(b) Requests to inspect such records should be filed with the Chief Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction at least five working days prior to the requested inspection date in order to insure availability.(c) Requests for inspection should be as specific as possible in identifying the records desired.(d) Original copies of public records shall not be removed from the office of the custodian thereof.(e) If search by a state employee for the records requested, inspection of the public record will be subject to the payment of the fees required by section 18473 of this title.Cal.
