Section 1 - Application and Scope(a) The provisions of this subchapter shall apply in all parts of the state and shall apply to the erection, construction, enlargement, conversion, alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, occupancy, use height, court area, sanitation, maintenance, and ventilation of all hotels, motels, apartment houses and dwellings, or portions thereof and buildings and structures accessory thereto approved for construction on or after the effective date of this subchapter except as otherwise provided in this subchapter.(b) The provisions of this subchapter relating to use, maintenance and change of occupancy shall apply to all buildings, or portions thereof, approved for construction or constructed before or after the effective date of this subchapter.Cal.
