(a) These regulations implement Sections 79035 through 79044, and 79044.9 in Article 2.5 of Chapter 5 of Division 26 of the Water Code, which Division is the Costa-Machado Water Act of 2000. They establish a process for funding acquisition of property rights and related activities for flood protection corridor projects undertaken by the Department of Water Resources directly or through grants to local public agencies or nonprofit organizations.(b) The Flood Protection Corridor Program is statewide in scope. Within the geographic scope of the CALFED Bay-Delta Program, funds in the subaccount for this program shall be used for projects that, to the greatest extent possible, are consistent with the CALFED long-term plan identified in the Programmatic Record of Decision of August 28, 2000.Cal.
