Section 460 - Eligible Project DeterminationAn eligible project must meet the following criteria:
(a) The project is needed in order for the system to meet water quality standards specified in Title 17, California Administrative Code, Part 1, Chapter 5, Subchapter 1; or, the project is needed in order for the system to meet water quantity and pressure requirements of the Waterworks Standards, Title 17, California Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Group 1.1.(b) The scope of the project is commensurate with the need of the existing community served. Reasonable allowance may be made for future water supply needs and additional capacity when excessive cost would be incurred by later enlargement.(c) The project meets the needs of the community effectively and economically, and other means to meet the needs such as consolidation with adjacent water systems or development of alternative sources, are not reasonably available or economical.Cal.
