Section 69403.6 - Hematotoxicity(a) The hematotoxicity hazard trait is defined as the occurrence of adverse effects on blood or blood-forming tissues following exposure to a chemical substance.(b) Toxicological endpoints for hematotoxicity include, but are not limited to those indicating: alterations in the number, types or lifetime of circulating blood cells, or in the ratio of cell types; decrease in the oxygen transporting capacity of hemoglobin or red blood cells; increase or decrease in blood clotting activity resulting from interference in platelet response or function or other causes; bone marrow toxicity; aplastic, hemolytic or myelodysplastic anemia.(c) Other relevant data include but are not limited to: in vitro measures of toxicity in isolated blood cells or blood-forming tissues; structural or mechanistic similarity to other chemical substances that are hematotoxic.Cal.
