Each fluoridation system installed or modified after January 1, 1997, shall meet the following criteria, as a minimum:
(a) Operate only when a flow of water is detected. If the water system serves less than 200 service connections, a secondary flow-based control device shall be provided as back-up protection;(b) Provide flow measuring and recording equipment for the fluoride addition;(c) Provide design and reliability features to maintain the level of fluoride within the temperature-appropriate control range 95 per cent of the time;(d) Provide for containment of spills; and(e) Provide alarm features for fluoride chemical feed and fluoride spills.Cal.
