Section 53686 - Continued Hearings(a) The hearing officer, prior to issuance of a proposed decision in the matter, may continue or reopen a hearing:(1) On the hearing officer's own initiative.(2) At the request of any party only upon a showing of good cause.(b) Notice of the time and place of the continued hearing:(1) May be oral if the continuance is ordered during a hearing session.(2) Shall be in writing to all parties, in accordance with this article, if ordered outside a hearing session.Cal.
