Section 50463 - Boats, Campers, Trailers(a) The net market value of boats, campers, and trailers and mobile homes, which are not assessed as real property by the county assessor, shall be included in the property reserve unless exempt as either of the following: (1) A principal residence.(2) A vehicle used for transportation.(b) Items in (a) which are assessed as real property by the county assessor of the county in which the property is located and which are not exempt as a home shall be considered as other real property and treated in accordance with Section 50427.(c) The net market value of these items shall be determined as follows: (1) The market value shall be any of the following:(A) The average of three appraisals by dealers, insurance adjustors or personal property appraisers submitted to the county department by the applicant or beneficiary.(B) The market value placed on the item by the county assessor.(C) The market value of the item determined by use of the State Department of Motor Vehicle's license fee chart.(D) The original purchase price of the item if the applicant or beneficiary does not wish or is unable to provide three appraisals or the market value cannot be determined in accordance with (B) or (C).(2) The net market value shall be the market value less any encumbrances of record.(d) Eligibility or share-of-cost determinations effective on or after January 1, 1980, shall be based on the provisions of this section.Cal.
