Cal. Code Regs. tit. 21 § 1393
Every valve certified by the State Architect shall bear a label conforming to the provisions of Section 1378 for seismic gas shutoff valves except that the label shall designate an excess flow gas shutoff valve Labels shall be placed in a conspicuous location on the exterior of the valve and on the exterior of the box or container in which the valve is sold or distributed. Valve labels shall be attached by the manufacturer during production or fabrication. Container labels shall be attached by the manufacturer or the manufacturer's authorized representative during the production of the container. For other specific marking requirements see S. B.
