Section 20118 - Chain of Custody(a) The elections official shall maintain and document uninterrupted chain of custody for each ballot card and each ballot storage container. Chain of custody logs should, at a minimum, include an identifying number of each ballot storage container and the number of a tamper-evident seal affixed to each ballot storage container. Chain of custody logs shall be available for public inspection after the canvass of the election pursuant to Division 15, Chapters 2 through 4, of the Elections Code is complete.(b) The elections official shall secure and maintain in sealed ballot containers all tabulated ballot cards.(c) The elections official shall establish written procedures to ensure the security, confidentiality, and integrity of any ballot cards, cast vote records, or any other data collected, stored, or otherwise used pursuant to this section.
