Section 14082 - Statutory Exceptions to the Rules Against Age Discrimination

It is not a discriminatory practice for a covered entity to take any action otherwise prohibited by Article 9.5, this subchapter, or other implementing regulations if such action is based on a Federal statute or regulation, State statute or regulation, or local ordinance consistent with this Subchapter adopted by an elected, general purpose legislative body and which:

(a) provides any benefits or assistance to persons based on age;
(b) establishes criteria for participation in age-related terms; or
(c) describes intended beneficiaries or target groups in age-related terms.
