Section 2540.7 - Exemption from Continuing Education Requirements(a) At the time of making application for renewal, an applicant for exemption from the continuing education requirements shall make such application on a form prescribed by the Board.(b) The applicant must show evidence satisfactory to the Board, that during the two-year period immediately prior to the expiration date of the applicant's license, the licensee: (1) Has been residing in another country for a period of one year or longer reasonably preventing completion of continuing education requirements; or(2) Has been absent from California because of military or missionary service for a period of one year or longer preventing completion of continuing education requirements; or(3) Should be exempt from the continuing education requirements for reasons of health or other good cause which includes:(A) Total physical and/or mental disability for one year or more and the ability to return to work, as verified by a licensed physician and surgeon or licensed clinical psychologist.(B) Total physical and/or mental disability for one year or longer of an immediate family member for whom the licensee has total responsibility, as verified by a licensed physician and surgeon or licensed clinical psychologist.Cal.
