Section 3270.1 - Lethal Electrified Fences(a) For the purposes of this section, a lethal electrified fence is a high voltage fence installed for the lethal infliction of injury to escaping incarcerated persons.(b) Safety precautions shall be instituted to prevent accidental electrocution. These precautions shall include, but are not limited to, the following: (1) The posting of warning signs on the inner and outer perimeters of the facility informing staff, incarcerated persons, and the public of the presence of a lethal electrified fence.(2) A visual inspection of the lethal electrified fence area at least once per shift.(3) Regular inspections by an outside patrol of the perimeter areas.(4) The presence of a staff person trained in energizing and deenergizing the fence prior to any authorized person entering the lethal electrified fence area.(5) Inspections of lethal electrified fences as specified by a routine maintenance schedule.(6) The insulation of lethal electrified fences between two security fences.Cal.
