Section 786.7 - Reports to the Legislature(a) Beginning in 2000, and every five years thereafter, the Department shall submit a written report to the appropriate policy committees of the Legislature regarding the effects of voluntary local programs.(b) The Department shall consult with the Department of Food and Agriculture in evaluating the voluntary local programs and preparing the report.(c) The report shall contain: (1) A summary of voluntary local programs currently established;(2) An analysis of trends in temporary and permanent acreage benefitting from the voluntary local programs, including an estimate of the amount of land upon which routine and ongoing agricultural activities are conducted;(3) Examples of farmer and rancher cooperation in designing and implementing the voluntary local programs; and(4) Recommendations to improve voluntary participation by farmers and ranchers.Cal.
