Section R18-12-951 - General RequirementsA. Implementation of requirements. Owners and operators shall comply with the requirements of this Article for UST systems with field-constructed tanks and airport hydrant systems as follows: 1. For UST systems installed on or before January 1, 2020, the requirements are effective according to the following schedule: Requirement | Effective Date |
Upgrading UST systems; general operating requirements; and operator training | March 1, 2020 |
Release detection | March 1, 2020 |
Release reporting, response, and investigation; closure; financial responsibility and notification (except as provided in subsection (B) of this Section) | January 1, 2020 |
2. For UST systems installed after January 1, 2020, the requirements apply at installation.B. All owners of previously deferred UST systems shall submit a notification form under R18-222 to the Department and shall demonstrate financial responsibility at the time of submission of the notification form.C. Except as provided in R18-12-952, owners and operators shall comply with the requirements of Articles 1 through 5 and 9 of this Chapter.D. In addition to the codes of practice listed in R18-12-281, owners and operators may use military construction criteria, such as "Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-460-01, Petroleum Fuel Facilities Design, With Change 2," revised 6/17/15, when designing, constructing, and installing airport hydrant systems and UST systems.Ariz.
