Section 5 AAC 28.133 - Groundfish and halibut taken with salmon troll fishing gear in the Eastern Gulf of Alaska Area(a) Groundfish incidentally taken by hand and power troll gear operated to take salmon consistent with applicable state laws and regulations are legally taken and possessed, except that lingcod may be taken under this subsection only from May 16 through November 30. Notwithstanding the provisions of this subsection, the commissioner may establish groundfish bycatch limits for the salmon fishery described in this subsection, if the commissioner determines it is necessary to manage the groundfish bycatch harvest within total catch limits established in this chapter.(c) Halibut incidentally taken during an open commercial halibut season by power and hand troll gear being operated for salmon consistent with applicable state laws and regulations are legally taken and possessed.Eff. 5/31/98, Register 146; am 6/14/2000, Register 154; am 7/18/2003, Register 167; am 5/26/2006, Register 178
