Section 5 AAC 27.893 - Vessel specifications and operations for Kuskokwim Area(a) In the Goodnews Bay, Nelson Island, and Cape Avinof Districts, a vessel used to take herring may not be more than 30 feet in overall length. For the purpose of this section, "overall length" means the straight-line measurement between the extremities of the vessel.(b) In the Nelson Island, Goodnews Bay, and Cape Avinof Districts, a vessel used to take herring may not have on board any mechanical device designed to shake or dislodge herring from a gillnet.Eff. 5/1/87, Register 102; am 4/2/88, Register 105; am 3/30/95, Register 133; am 6/10/98, Register 1465 AAC 27.893 was filed as an Emergency Regulation on 5/1/87. The identical section had been filed in a set of "regular" regulations on 4/21/87 to take effect 5/21/87, Register 102. The Emergency Regulation was therefore allowed to lapse.
