Section 5 AAC 02.607 - Subsistence fishing gear

In that portion of the area north of the latitude of Cape Newenham, shellfish may only be taken by shovel, jigging gear, pots, crab hook, and ring net; in this section, a " crab hook" is a handhcld pole with one or more projections used to lift a crab to the water surface without piercing the crab.

At its February 23 - 27, 1993 meeting, the Board of Fisheries readopted 5 AAC 02.607 in its entirety without change, under ch. 1, SSSLA 1992 (the 1992 subsistence law), which repealed and reenacted AS 16.05.258.
