Section 5 AAC 01.180 - Subsistence fishing permits; annual limits for salmon
(a) Except as provided in this section, fish may be taken for subsistence purposes without a subsistence fishing permit.
(b) A subsistence salmon fishing permit is required as follows:
(1) in all waters of the Port Clarence District;
(2) in the Norton Sound District, in all waters from Cape Douglas to Bald Point;
(3) in all waters of the Norton Sound-Port Clarence Area when subsistence fishing with a hook and line attached to a rod or pole.
(c) Only one subsistence fishing permit will be issued to each household per year.
(d) Repealed 6/7/2007.
(e) If a Tier II subsistence chum salmon fishery is opened under 5 AAC 01.182 and 5 AAC 01.184, a Tier II chum salmon fishing permit is required for the taking of chum salmon in Subdistrict 1 of the Norton Sound District.
(f) In the Norton Sound District, in the following waters, the annual limits for salmon are as follows:
(1) in the Nome River, the annual limit for coho salmon is 100 fish;
(2) in the Snake River, the annual limit for coho salmon is 100 fish;
(3) in the Solomon River, the annual limit for (A) chum salmon is 40 fish;
(A) chum salmon is 40 fish;
(B) coho salmon is 20 fish.
(g) In the Port Clarence District, in the following waters, the annual limits for salmon are as follows:
(1) in the Pilgrim River, the annual limit for
(A) king salmon is three fish;
(B) sockeye salmon is 25 fish, unless modified by the commissioner by emergency order;
(2) in Salmon Lake, the annual limit for sockeye salmon is 200 fish.
