Section 13 AAC 02.497 - Funerals and other processions; permits(a) No driver of a vehicle may drive between or position his vehicle between any vehicles comprising a funeral or other authorized procession while they are in motion. This provision does not apply at intersections where traffic is controlled by traffic-control signals or a police officer, fireman, or authorized flagman.(b) Each driver in a funeral or other procession shall drive as near to the right-hand edge of the roadway as practicable and shall follow the vehicle ahead as close as is practicable and safe.(c) No funeral, procession, or parade containing 200 or more persons or 50 or more vehicles may occupy, march or proceed along a street or other way or area normally open to the public for purposes of vehicular travel except in accordance with a permit issued by the state or local authority having jurisdiction over the street or other way or area, and other statutes, regulations, or ordinances which may apply. This permit requirement does not apply to the armed forces of the United States, the military forces of this state and the forces of the police and fire departments of a political subdivision having local jurisdiction.Eff. 6/28/79, Register 70
