Section 12 AAC 52.585 - Patient counseling(a) Following the review of a patient's records, if considered necessary by the pharmacist, a pharmacist or pharmacist intern shall personally offer counseling to each patient or the patient's agent. (b) If a pharmacist or pharmacist intern provides counseling, the pharmacist or pharmacist intern may provide the counseling by any verbal, written, or electronic means. (c) This section does not apply to a pharmacist who dispenses drugs for inpatient use in a hospital or other institution if the drug is to be administered by a nurse or other appropriate health care provider.
