Section 797-X-4-.12 - General Park Rules(1) Roller-skating, in line skating, and skateboarding: (a) Roller-skating, in line skating, and skateboarding are permitted only in areas designated for such use.(2) Fires: (a) Building a fire outside of stoves, grills, fireplaces, or other places provided for such purposes shall be unlawful. All fires shall be attended at all times and upon abandonment of same the fire shall be completely extinguished.(b) Smoking or the building of fires may be further prohibited or limited by the director whenever, in the director's judgment, a potential fire hazard exists.(c) No one may build a fire in the park except in a fireplace or other facility or structure designed and constructed to contain a fire; or use a charcoal or gasoline or gas stove without the written permission of the Director.(d) In addition to being subject to the sanctions in Section 6 of this document, a person who builds a fire in the park in violation of the rules set forth here, is responsible for any damage or expense resulting from the violation.(3) Domesticated Animals: (a) Except as provided in subsection G. of this section, no animal may be brought upon park property unless it is on a leash not longer than 6 feet, and is at all times entirely within the physical restrictive control of the person bringing it upon park property.(b) Persons bringing a domesticated animal upon park property are responsible for immediate clean up and removal of the animal's defecations.(c) The grazing of any animal is prohibited, except in those areas where an individual has a lease for such purpose.(d) Persons may not abandon domestic animals on park property.(e) Domestic animals are not permitted at any time in certain posted areas of park property. This rule shall not prohibit the use of helping animals by disabled persons.(f) Domestic animals trespassing on park property may be impounded and shall be treated in accordance with applicable State, County and Local statutes.(g) Animals within defined dog parks need not be leashed.(h) No person shall keep a noisy, vicious, or dangerous dog or animal or one which is disturbing other persons, in the park and remain therein after he has been asked to leave by authorized personnel.(4) Sanitation: (a) Failure to dispose of all garbage including paper, cans, bottles, waste materials, and rubbish by removal from the site or area, or disposal at places provided for such disposition shall be unlawful.(b) No person shall dump any refuse or waste from any trailer or other vehicle except in places or receptacles provided for such use.(c) Cleaning of fish or food, or washing clothing or articles of household use in any stream, pond, lake or at any hydrant of faucets located in restrooms shall be unlawful.(d) No person shall pollute or contaminate any water or water supply used for human consumption.(e) No person shall use park refuse containers or other park refuse facilities for dumping household or commercial garbage or trash brought as such from private property.(f) No person shall deposit except into receptacles provided for that purpose, any body waste in or on any portion of any comfort station or any public structure, or deposit any bottles, cans, cloths, rags, metal, wood, stone, or other damaging substance in any of the fixtures in such stations or structures.(5) Plants: (a) Planting of vegetation or causing vegetation to be planted on park property is prohibited except by approval of the Director and with the required State or County permits.(6) Posting Notices: (a) Attaching or posting of notices, signs, or any other objects on park property is prohibited except by permit.(7) Erecting Structures: (a) Enclosure of any area or erection of any structures on park property is prohibited unless authorized by permit.(8) Lost & Found Objects:(a) Lost objects found on park property must be turned over to authorized park personnel.(b) Lost objects will be held for at least three (3) months and disposed of within applicable laws and regulations.(9) Tobacco Products:(a) A person may not use any form of tobacco product in an office, meeting room, restroom, at a spectator or concession area, dog park, beach or aquatic facility, or playground area of the park.(10) Aeronautical Activities:(a) Airplanes, helium/hot air balloons, hang gliders, parachutes, ultra-light planes, or any other person operated aircraft shall not be flown or launched from any park property except in officially designated areas by permit.(b) Aeronautical activities are permitted pursuant to airport regulations.(11) Camping: (a) A person may not camp in a park in other than a designated area and only with a permit issued by the Director.(b) Pitching tents or parking trailers or other camping equipment in areas not designated for such purposes shall be unlawful.(c) Abandoned personal property shall be subject to disposal in accordance with law.(d) A person may not install permanent camping facilities or dig or level the ground at a campsite in the park.(12) Fishing: (a) Fishing is permitted only in designated areas and in compliance with Alabama State fishing laws and regulations. Those persons fishing shall have in their possession all applicable Alabama fishing permits and will surrender them upon request to authorized personnel.(13) Golf: (a) Golf practice is not permitted.(14) Trapping: (a) Trapping is permitted on park property only for scientific collection and animal control purposes and requires a park permit.(15) Hunting: (a) Hunting is not permitted.Ala.
