Section 580-7-37-.01 - Motor Vehicle Registration(1) All motor vehicles owned and/or operated by employees of the Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation and used for transportation purposes to and from their respective facilities, must be registered with that facility's police department. Upon registration, employees will be issued a decal which will be placed on the registered vehicle in the manner prescribed by the facility's police department within twenty-four hours after issuance. There will be no charge for the decal.(2) In order for a vehicle to be registered, a valid driver's license, evidence of ownership and evidence of liability insurance or financial responsibility must be shown. New employees will have ten (10) days from the date of employment to register vehicles. The registration of vehicles will become a part of the personnel hiring procedure.(3) Any employee who is prevented from using his officially registered vehicle because of mechanical difficulties and desires to use another vehicle that is not registered, must obtain a temporary parking permit. Any temporary permit issued for mechanical difficulties will be valid for no more than one (1) week. Temporary parking permits may be applied for in the facility's police department office.
