Section 482-1-165-.01 - Purpose, Scope, Authority, Severability, And Effective Date(1) The purpose of this chapter is to set forth rules and procedural requirements the Commissioner deems necessary to carry out the provisions of Section 31-1-6, Code of Ala. 1975, relating to the issuance of professional licenses to the spouses of active duty military personnel.(2) This chapter shall apply to the spouse of an active duty reserve, or transitioning member of the United States Armed Forces, including the National Guard, or a surviving spouse of a service member who, at the time of his or her death, was serving on active duty, who is relocated to and stationed in the State of Alabama under official military orders, who may apply for an insurance producer or service representative license pursuant to Chapter 7 of the Alabama Insurance Code, or an independent insurance adjuster license pursuant to Chapter 9A of the Alabama Insurance Code, or a title insurance agent license pursuant to Chapter 25 of the Alabama Insurance Code.(3) This chapter is adopted pursuant to Sections 27-2-17 and 31-1-6, Code of Ala. 1975.(4) If any rule or portion of a rule or its applicability to any person or circumstance is held invalid by a court, the remainder of this chapter or the applicability of the provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected.(5) This chapter shall become effective upon its approval by the Commissioner of Insurance and upon its having been on file as a public document in the office of the Secretary of State for ten days.Ala.
