Section 360-X-19-.01.01 - Certified Technical Rescue Personnel: Rope Rescue Awareness Level(1) Entrance Requirements.(a) Prior to entering the certification course, the candidate shall meet the Entrance Requirements set out in NFPA 1006, Standard for Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualifications, as adopted by the Commission which shall be met by the following:1. The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.2. The candidate must be a minimum age of 18 years.3. The candidate must be physically capable to perform training.4. The candidate must have successfully completed emergency medical care training requirements for entry-level personnel.5. The candidate must have successfully completed hazardous materials incident and contact control training for entry-level personnel.(b) Prior to certification, the candidate shall have completed psychological support/education training.(c) Examination. There will be an examination for state certification for each level of progression provided by the Alabama Fire College and Personnel Standards and Education Commission. 1. An overall score of 70% is required for the successful completion of this examination.2. Re-test may be taken after 30 days and within 12 months of course completion.3. All certification testing, to include re-testing, must be completed within 12 months of the course completion date.(2) Administration.(a) Scope. This standard identifies the professional levels of competence required of the Technical Rescue Personnel: Rope Rescue Awareness Level.(b) Purpose. The purpose of this standard is to specify, in terms of performance objectives, the minimum requirements of professional competence required for service at the Technical Rescue Personnel: Rope Rescue Awareness Level. It is not the intent of this standard to restrict any jurisdiction from exceeding these minimum requirements.(c) General. 1. The candidate shall meet all of the requirements for this standard before being certified as Technical Rescue Personnel: Rope Rescue Awareness Level.2. Each performance objective for the Technical Rescue Personnel: Rope Rescue Awareness Level shall be performed swiftly, safely, and with competence. Each objective shall be met in its entirety.3. It is not required for the objectives to be mastered in the order they appear.(3) Objectives. (a) The objectives of this standard are based on the ability of the student to demonstrate knowledge and skills as outlined in the Alabama Fire College and Personnel Standards and Education Commission Teaching Outline for Technical Rescue Personnel: Rope Rescue Awareness Level, current edition.Ala.
