Section 305-4-1-.01 - History

The Alabama Law Enforcement Planning Agency was established November 18, 1968, by Executive Order No. 8. This Executive Order was a result of passage of Public Law 90-351, 90th Congress, H.R. 5037, June 19, 1968, cited The Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968. Since this initial date of 1968, the law has been amended eight times as of December 8, 1980. The Law Enforcement Planning Agency is currently operating under Federal Public Law 93-415, as amended December 8, 1980, and titled The Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974.
