F. OF L. Case No. R-3293 SUPPLEMENTAL DECISION AND ORDER February 19, 19.42 On December 30, 1941, the National Labor Relatians board issued its Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled pro- ceeding.' Pursuant to the Direction of Election,, an election by secret ballot was conducted on January 27, 1942, by the Regional Director for the Fifth Region (Baltimore, Maryland). On January 29, 1941, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties his Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. As to the balloting and its results, the Regional reported as follows : Total on eligibility list------------------------------------ 1, 885 Total ballots cast ----------------------------------------- 1,687 Total ballots challenged ----------------------------------- 6 Total blank ballots -- --------------------------------------- 4 Total void ballots_________________________________________ 6 Total valid votes counted ---------------------------------- 1,671 Votes cast for Upholsterers International Union, Local 308, A. F. of L.------------------------------'---------------- 761 Votes cast against Upholsterers International Union, Local 308, A. -F. of L ------------------------------- -- 910 The results of the election show that no collective bargaining representative has been selected by a majority of the employees of Thomasville Chair Company, Thomasville, North Carolina, in the unit heretofore found to be appropriate for collective bargaining. ORDER By virtue of Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Relations Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the petition for investigation and cer- tification of representatives of employees of Thomasville Chair Com- pany, Thomasville , North Carolina , filed by Upholsterers Interna- tional Union, Local 308, A.
