I. O. Cases Nos. R-2485 and R-2493 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES August 1, 1941 On June 9, 1941, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the above- entitled' proceeding.' On June 25, 1941, the Board issued an Amendment to Decision and Direction of Election.2 Pursuant to the Direction of Election, as amended, an election by secret ballot was conducted on July 15, 1941, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Seventh Region (Detroit, Michigan). On July 17, 1941, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regu- lations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Election Report on the ballot. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. B., No. 182. 1056 THE WESTERN UNION TELEG'RAPH COMPANY 1057 of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, .as amended, IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Local 55-B, American Communications Association, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, has been designated and selected by a majority of all employees of The Western Union Telegraph Company working in the metropolitan Detroit area, in the commercial, traffic, accounting, and plant depart- ments, excluding superintendent, sales manager, city commercial manager, chief clerk, clerk in charge of messenger personnel, man- ager of delivery department, assistant to manager of delivery depart- ment, clerk, and cashier in the commercial department, traffic man- ager, night traffic managers, assistant chief operators, testing and regulating chief, chief clerk, automatic chief, route supervisor, clerk supervisor, supervisors in phone room, senior supervisor, automatic and teleprinter supervisors, repeater chief, wire chief, supervisors in telephone room, instructress in phone school and stenographer in traffic department, city foremen, assistant foremen, and acting gen- eral foremen in the plant department, and manager and assistant to the accounting manager in accounting department, as their repre- sentative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, Local 55-B, American Communications Association, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
