On March 7, 1942,'the National Labor Relations Board issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceedings.,- Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted on March 26, 1942, under the direction and supervision,of the Regional Director' for the Fifteenth Region (New Orleans, Louisiana). On March 30, 1942, the Regional Director, acting pur- suant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served -upon the parties an Election Report on the ballot. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. Organizations, has-been designated and-selected by a _ maj ority - of all hourly paid production and maintenance employees at the Baton. Rouge plant of The Solvay Process Company, including laboratory employees, brine- well employees, operators in the chlorine department, Morris, Bridge- man, 21 named construction employees,2 mill-water and wharfman, Wade Artigue, Wolsefer, and Edwin Roy, but excluding plant admin- istration men, head operators in lime kiln, watchmen and gatemen on the hourly pay roll, special construction employees temporarily employed on large-scale new construction, 7 named hourly paid supervisors,3 head operators in caustic-soda department, Molaison, William Sims, and Edward Daigle, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, United Mine Workers of America, District 50, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, is the exclu- sive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment. 3 George M.
