DECISION AND CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES STATEMENT OF THE CASE Upon petition duly filed by the International Union, United Auto- mobile, Aircraft & Agricultural Implement Workers of America, C. I. 0., herein called the C. I. 0., alleging that a question affecting commerce had arisen concerning the representation of employees of The Federal Bearings Co., Inc., and The Schatz Manufacturing Com- pany, herein called the Companies, engaged at Poughkeepsie, New York, in the manufacture of ball bearings and bearings parts, the National Labor Relations Board provided for an appropriate hearing upon due notice. On April 7, 1942, before a hearing was held, the Companies, the C. I. 0., and the Regional Director for the Second Region (New York City) entered into a "STIPULATION FOR CERTIFI- CATION ON CONSENT ELECTION." Pursuant to the Stipulation, an election by secret ballot was con- ducted on April 14, 1942, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director, among all production and maintenance employees of the Companies, excluding set-up men and other supervisory em- ployees, office, sales, and engineering employees, watchmen, guards, firemen , and timekeepers, to determine whether or not they desired to be represented by the C. I. O. On April 17, 1942, the Regional Director issued and duly served upon the parties an Election Report 40 N. L. R. B., No. 218. 1230 THE ' FEDERAL BEARINGS C'O., INC. " ' ' 1231 on the ballot. No olij ections to the " conduct of the ballot or, the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. A question affecting commerce has arisen concerning the repre- sentation of employees of The Federal Bearings Co., Inc., and The Schatz Manufacturing Company, both of Poughkeepsie, New York, within the meaning of Section 9 (c) and Section 2 (6) and (7) of the National Labor Relations Act: 2. All production and maintenance employees of The Federal Bearings Co., Inc., and The Schatz Manufacturing Company, of Poughkeepsie, New York, excluding set-up men and other supervisory employees, office, sales, and engineering employees, watchmen, guards, firemen, and timekeepers, constitute a unit appropriate for the pur- poses of collective bargaining within the meaning of Section 9 (b) of the National Labor Relations Act. 3. International Union, United Automobile, Aircraft & Agricul- tural Implement Workers of America, C. I. 0., has been designated and selected by a majority of the employees in the above unit as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining and is the ekclusive representative of all employees in said unit within the meaning of Section 9 (a) of the National Labor Relations Act. CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Rela- tions Act, I 1232 DECISIONS 'OF NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD • IT IS HEREBY 'GEEtzIFIED•that the,-International Union, United Auto-, mobile, Aircraft &+ ,Agricultural, sImplement Workers of America,' C: •I. 0., has been designated and .selected by a majority of all pro- duction and maintenance employees of The Federal Bearings Co„ Inc., and The Schatz Manufacturing Company, of Poughkeepsie, New York, excluding set-up men and other supervisory employees, office, sales, and engineering employees, watchmen, guards, firemen, and tirimekeepers, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, the Inter- national Union, United Automobile, Aircraft & Agricultural, Imple- ment Workers of America, C. I. 0., is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
