On April 17, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board issued a
Decision and Direction of Election in- the above-entitled' proceeding.'
On May' 5, 1942, the Board issued an Amendment to Direction of
Election.2 Pursuant to the Direction of Election, as amended;: an,
election by secret ballot was conducted on May 12, 1942, under the
direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Thirteenth
Region (Chicago, Illinois). On May 13, 1942, the Regional Director,
acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations
Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended,, issued and duly
served upon the parties an Election Report on the ballot. No objec-
tions to the conduct of the ballot or the Election Report have been
filed by any of the parties.
As to the balloting and its results, the Regional Director reported

IT is HEREBY CERTIFIED that United Automobile, Aircraft & Agri-
cultural Implement Workers of America, affiliated with the Congress
of Industrial Organizations, has been designated and selected by a
majority of all production and maintenance employees of Silverstein
& Pinsof, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, including electric mule drivers and
the chemist, but excluding non :working foremen, supervisory em-
ployees, office and clerical employees, watchmen, and outside truck
drivers, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargain-
ing, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, United Auto-
mobile, Aircraft & Agricultural Implement Workers of America,
affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, is the ex-
clusive representative of all such employees in respect to rates of
pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of em-
ployment.
